Clark Atlanta University is a somewhat small, urban, private institution with a predominantly African-American makeup. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees.
Emory University is a medium-sized private college. It has a high tuition level.
The Georgia Institute of Technology is a top research university, occupying 400 acres right in the heart of Atlanta, attended by about 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
Georgia State University is a big public college. Its tuition is a bargain for in-state students.
Morehouse College is a fairly small private university.
Oglethorpe University, founded in 1835, enrolls over 1,000 students and is one of America’s most selective liberal arts institutions.
Spelman College was originally founded in 1881, became Spelman College in 1924, and is considered America’s oldest historically Black college for women. Now their student body comprises more than 2,000 students.
